The Sandakphu trek, known as the "trekker's paradise," offers a spectacular journey through lush valleys, rolling hills, and breathtaking vistas of the world's highest peaks, including Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Makalu. Perfect for adventurers and nature lovers, this trek blends stunning landscapes with serene tranquility.

Starting from NJP, the trek takes you through picturesque villages like Gorkhey and Phalut, each offering unique experiences. Highlights include the enchanting Thakum Valley, known for its vibrant greenery and colorful blooms, and Sandakphu, the highest point in West Bengal, famous for its iconic "Sleeping Buddha" mountain range view.

Best experienced between October and April, the trek transforms into a magical winter escape with snow-covered trails or a vibrant autumn journey with clear skies. Its moderate difficulty and well-marked paths make it accessible to both seasoned trekkers and beginners.

The Sandakphu trek is more than an adventure—it’s an immersive experience into the heart of the Himalayas, combining stunning views, cultural encounters, and unforgettable memories.

Day 1 : NJP TO GORKHEY

On the first day, we will get down from Siliguri, have breakfast and reach Bhareng by car.
Then from there, we will trek about 4km to reach Gorkhey. Overnight stay in Gorkhey.

Day 2 : GORKHEY TO PHALUT

On the second day, we will wake up early in the morning and after breakfast, we will go to Phalut. Overnight stay in Phalut.

Day 3 : PHALUT TO THAKUM

This day, we woke up very early and trekked to Thakum Valley.A vast green valley with rolling hills, pine trees in the distance and colorful flowers here and there – this valley is like heaven on earth. In terms of average altitude, Thakum is about 10,000 feet. Overnight stay in Thakum.

Day 4 : THAKUM TO SANDAKPHU

The next day is the turn of Sandakphu trek. We will trek there and stay overnight

Day 5 : SANDAKPHU TO SRIKHOLA

Today is our turn to descend. We will trek via Gurdum to Srikhola. Overnight stay at Srikhola.

Day 6 : SRIKHOLA TO NJP

This morning we will have breakfast and head out for NJP.

1 Mountaineering & First aid qualified professional trek Leader.
Local experienced guides (Number of guides depending on the group size).
Enough support staff.

4. Trek equipment:

Sleeping bag, Sleeping liners (if required), mattresses, and Utensils.
4 men all season trekker tent (triple sharing), Kitchen & Dining tent, Toilet tent.
Ropes, Helmet, Ice axe, Harness, Gaiters & crampons (if required).
